Youth Ottawa and the National Arts Centre have partnered to bring you Youth City Mic!  Artists ages 14-21 can sign up to showcase their talent. Bands, singers, poets, dancers, improv artists and even DJ’s get five minutes to showcase their talent in a supportive open mic format! New and advanced performers welcome!

Youth City Mic will run once a month until May. Event dates include March 31st, April 28th and May 19th.

The night is also open to friends, family and everyone else who is interested in seeing the next generation of Ottawa creatives. Drop in for a great night of art, fun and energy. 


Looking to perform? Register to confirm your spot! Performances are on a first come first serve basis. 


Performers must be between  the ages of 14-21. 

Performances can be: Dance, Poetry, Monologue, Improv, Music, DJ set. There is space for live painting  should this be of interest. 

Content needs to be considerate of the audience. No hate speech towards gender, ethnicity, community, ability. No disrespectful or irresponsible conduct/behaviour.

Each performer gets 5 minutes to perform.

Entrance is free for artists and guests

720pm – 805pm Second Half of performances

805pm – 820pm Feature artist

17-year-old Mia Kelly is a bilingual singer/songwriter based in Gatineau, QC. Melding folk and rock with soulful blues, Mia’s powerful voice draws audience members into songs that are filled with deep themes and raw emotions. She lights up the room with her happy soul and infectious energy.
